All 7 Chakras Explained

Why Are Chakras Important?

Learning about chakras is a tool that you can use to aid in your spiritual, emotional, and even physical healing. Many people find that learning about chakras is fascinating and use this information to create their own healing practice.

Learning about the chakra systems will give you a very comprehensive understanding of the following:

  1. How energy is processed.

  2. Why chakras get knocked out of alignment.

  3. What happens to our bodies when our chakras are out of balance.

What Are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centers in and around the body. There are seven main chakras that start from the base of the spine up to the top of the head. Each energy center is connected to physical and emotional attributes. When chakras are in balance, you feel calm and happy. You are connected and find joy in the present time while simultaneously balancing your spiritual needs.

Humans are sensitive to the energy in their environments which is why outside factors can impact chakras with the same force as inner thoughts and feelings. When chakras are out of balance, they manifest in negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Physical ailments can manifest when chakras are left out of balance for too long. They are a signal from your body to pay closer attention to yourself and find realignment. Many practices such as yoga, reiki, sound healing, and crystal healing focus on rebalancing these energy centers.

Understanding All 7 Chakras

The two most important things to remember about each chakra are:

  1. The corresponding location on your body.

  2. The color association.

Learning these two things about each chakra will make it easier to remember other details corresponding to each chakra. The location of each chakra is near a major health system of the body which provides intuitive clues on what that chakra is linked to. For example, the third eye is close to the brain so it fuels a healthy nervous system, strong intellect, and insight into inner wisdom. The colors themselves give clues as to what can help heal that chakra. For example, the sacral chakra is orange so working with crystals and essential oils that are orange as well as eating orange foods can help keep that chakra in balance.
